I see what your saying but we are talking about different type of stocks - having sad that, well $100k in ITT before it became 1PG would have made you a multi multi millionaire!!!

Know people who put 100k into so called rock solid blue chip stocks and they are way way down (because in this market you need to be stock selective, by sector etc.) Many many speculative stocks would have made you millions (putting 100k on the line)

Investing is also about risk management so as to take a bit of the gamble out of the asx casino as such....
