It is an amazingly exciting time watching technology advance at almost exponential levels (when thinking back to where we were even 5-10 years ago).
Just considering Consumer Entertainment items like televisions, I can see the day (within 10 years) when wall sized immersed TV displays might be commonplace in our homes.
At present, the very latest technology is all about 4K or a variant Ultra HD and/or Curved, 3D etc and of course Size and thickness (or rather thinness)...
...but look at the bang for your buck even with technology that is a generation out (a generation is getting to be not much more than a year or two):
Sony Bravia HD Smart 70" (that's 178cm!) TVs now selling for around $2700 and even puny 55" HD TVs can be bought for circa $600.
Now LG is projecting that by 2017 it will roll out (literally) a 60" paper thin Ultra HD, transparent rollable television!!
