    "That makes no sense"

It makes perfect sense joewolf if you think about it!!!

You said, "If I work for a company on a contract they pay me monthly after I have provided the service. If I go to fortnightly I am paid after the fortnight so I get my money earlier and all employment is paid in arrears."

Did i say employees or contractors as there is a distinct difference.

I said, "For employees contracted on a monthly pay cycle are now going to be changed to a fortnightly pay cycle and paid in arrears."

Joewolf, if a monthly paid employee is paid mid month for the month worked and they decide to change them to a fortnightly pay cycle and pay them in arrears of course this creates a windfall, because they arent paying their employees for 5 weeks and rather than paying a month they will only be paying out for a fortnight.

It releases funds from the employee to the employer, a pretty shitty way to go about things if you think about it. What have Hills got 700 employees x $6000 average per employee = $4,200,000

It may offer the company rewards in $$$$ but it surely wouldnt make them rich in employee enthusiasm and support.
It may be legal, but totally immoral for mine.

That to me speaks volumes of the management running the show!!

    Cheers
