Had to laugh abit here, I post some bearish looking charts, get a few up votes on each, then the SP drops 3.7% and my charts get thumbed down ;)
What A Gas- What you'll really suggesting here is that charts have no merit. Which is fine, I can accept that.I certainly wouldn't invest in a company like ACL based off charts- TA would be used as more of an assistant for entry point/ stop losses etc.
There's really no point saying what if, When the charts I've produced are simply looking at what's going on right now. They probably have little value for long term holders who have based there position on fundamentals alone- however they should hold some value for those who maintain trading positions based of TA, or gut feelings. Like many do.
You can ask me all these "what" questions, just like I can ask them to you...What if nothing happens for months and Ph3 results don't come out until October, around the date my chart has predicted as key turning point? What if there's no real news either? What if the short term trend continues like the charts could suggest? With no news from the company what else will you be left with to base your analysis on? It's all just speculation at the end of the day, and whether any disruptive event happens shortly is just a matter of opinion- No one has been right picking dates so far, everything has always blown right out with this company, and solely using a rational approach( eg using the company's exceptions) has proven almost useless.
"Neo And what if you had produced your charts towards end of September 2013?"
There is heaps arguments you can use against TA, but that isn't really one of them- since you could of potentially predicted that change with TA, however if you had solely based your assumptions on fundamentals, then there's no real rational explanation for what started that down move( Most on here had high expectations), which was fair enough- there was really no rational argument(that we know of yet) to support the change in trend, or to sustain it since then. It still doesn't stop people trying to rationalize price movements with their own fundamental style arguments, that don't completely add up( How can they when we don't have all the information from behind the scenes, what we do have though is all the data on the chart, thus all the information). Even if you did know everything going on, sometimes there simply might not be any real fundamental/ rational explanation for price movement, and this is where charts/TA can become most useful...
