Assess roc for what it is today relative to SP ,not what you bought it for .
To give you an example, if I bought stock X at 2 dollars but for whatever reason it's worth subsequently ended up being 50c and the Sp followed down , then I simply either paid too much or things changed dramatically .
Now if that stock has recovered value wise to let's say 90c , buying it at 50c would present a great opportunity . Stock valuations are dynamic , just because they destroyed wealth 4-7 years ago doesn't mean the company will not do well now and create wealth
A while ago you mentioned you had bought Roc at around 2 dollars and you hoped it would get there ,I replied and said 2 dollars as unlikely on current assets . Well the recent JV in my view on an upper case success scenario could add a dollar to the Sp. They have almost 40 million of 2c boe 2c resource , if they could convert 20 m ( only half ) into reserves then a 1.50+ SP would be a real possibility
I try not to make investing too emotional - I have often lost money in a stock only to buy that same stock much lower and make more than I lost . Examples include PRU , BCC, AVB . Roc is an entirely different company to the ROC you bought many years ago , different assets , different management , different focus and very different balance sheet and financial metrics. Today ROC is none of the most undervalued oil stocks on the market , while at the same time due to its big cash position offering downside protection . The next 1-2 years will be transformational IMO .
