Sirius was not luck - it was a pure technical success. You could probably say they drilled that diamond hole prematurely and should have done the ground EM first (or at least done downhole EM on that hole). The following hole they drilled was targeting the modelled EM plate and hit it first time. No luck there. Hence, ORN didn't just spend a whole lot of money to complete an EM survey only to put down RC holes willy-nilly on an xx grid - they too will target there EM conductor/s and hopefully hit them first go too!
