A late reply I know, but I am 100% with your comments.
The astonishing thing imo is that greens have blinkers around "renewables" ... commonsense takes a holiday.
CSG peak powergen would be the perfect match with renewables like wind, solar and hydro ... the key that would make the dream for at least largely renewable powergen work.
However, renewables are unlikely to power planes, trains, heavy road haulage nor container ships anytime within the next few decades, so there can be no rapid end to the carbon based fuels that the greens cherrish.
There are also are no fertilisers, industrial lubricants or plastics that can be manufactured from solar, wind and hydro.
Greens policies that ignore basic science, engineering and commonsense are somewhere between laughable and disturbing.
