    Hello Captain

Great post. I just wondering if you have a ballpark figure for how much the Makris ferry would cost? I was trying to get a handle on how big a barrier to entry buying a ferry is. Would it be only one ferry - what would happen when the ferry is out of action for maintenance or breakdown? Although you could sell it if it didn't work out you would sell it at a loss and there is the interest cost of funding the ferry(s) as well. I suppose other barriers to entry are the sunk costs of setting up appropriate terminals at each end, setting up systems.

The idea of the ferry increasing property values around Glenelg also seem a bit weak. We are not talking about a major city train terminal which tens of thousands of people walk into and out of each day. Instead maybe 800-1600 people a day at most. If I was to catch the ferry I would just drive down half an hour beforehand, buy a coffee maybe and then get on the ferry. I don't think most people would do much more than that.
