As for NRL I'm not so sure about their pre-season activities, so I'll focus on AFL in order to expand on my original post.

It's not all about match day, especially when I think of AFL pre-seasons. They do a lot of bike work & running in order to build their endurance base. Many do high altitude training as well.

There is also the recovery aspect after games and training where the device could assist. In AFL pilates & yoga is also a large part of team recovery & rehabilitation sessions so the 2014 well-being model may have application there as well.

Also in AFL most games average 120 interchange rotations per game as well as breaks at 1/4, 1/2 & 3/4 time whereby the device could be of use.

I'm not sure about your heart rate & body temp assumptions, so I'll have a think about that and check my facts before I post again. But my initial thought is the Turbine was more about maximizing performance/output.

The other area I could see use for is in weights sessions where heavy lifters inhale through the nose & exhale through the mouth. Anything that could give a power athlete an advantage in what they lift would probably be of interest.

And furniture who knows maybe the 'well-being' model could have more applications than the company has originally outlined.
