If I remember correctly, it was Shamish who pointed out recently, that the relationship between EWI and EWC has not yet resulted in any EWI projects being ‘transferred’ to EWC. The ‘Framework Agreement’ between EWI and EWC refers to the Asia Pacific region (see 2013 AR, pp 117/118). It is my understanding that the 600MW power project in the Philippines may the first project which EWI guided through its early stages and which, in its later phase, has been transferred to EWC (ie. EWC exercised its right under the Framework Agreement adopt, develop and implement such opportunities which arose from EWI successful tenders (see p. 118 of 2013 AR). In short, EWI was successful in tendering for this 6ooMW power station and EWC will develop it (2 x 200MW Siemens turbines are currently being transported from Germany to the Philippines).
While Sri Lanka and Jamaica are not in the ‘Asia Pacific region’ as referred to in the Framework Agreement between EWI and EWC , there may be nothing to prevent EWI from offering EWC these projects. Should EWC Board accept the conditions etc. attached to such projects (ie. the same conditions etc under which EWI made its bids for these projects), then EWC will be able to develop such projects (ie. Sri Lanka and Jamaica).
