More 'chatter' on shareholdersunite (see the following comments from posters). My own take is (as stated in my hc posts a few months ago) that one possible indication of EWC still being in the running re: Gulf LNG project can be seen by the amount of short selling of EWC shares. During the past week or so, there have been at least 2 days when 50% of daily trade as shorted!!!!

    Comment 1:
Think Chandler, think EWC, think two LNG projects.

    Comment 2:
JFT I think that is up for grabs at this point and not the main issue IMO. Most important is signing the deal with XOM. This give IOC all the fire power needed to find more gas. What happens after that is just growth from a pps of 250 on up

Chandler obviously has some motive with buying more stock. Does he want more voting shares? Buying almost 20% of the outstanding shares as a single investor is not something you do to just trade a stock and make money off of it. He has a significant portion of his net worth in IOC. Not peanuts to him.

Me sees that he has a much bigger strategy at hand. It is hard to liquidate that type of position without a sale of the entire company or control. Is it EWC? Is it a way to get a sale of the company? Is it negotiating power with the majors that want IOC? He can use this leverage to get EWC in with the majors as they may need his votes.

Also remember that together with his buddy Paulson they own almost 25% of the company.

Something is going on here. Something BIG!
I am interested to hear some of the other opinions. We have not heard the last of Chandler here.

    Comment 3:
IMHO as excited as persons may be to sell NG to Exxon at maybe $3 per mcf. I think all should go back and look at Henry's genius. Look at the cash flows from EWC. Or would you rather sell your NG for $3 to Exxon and sell your own LNG for $14 per mmbtu. Now it doesn't take rocket science to see the EWC scheme yields way more profit than any other choice.
EWC and Mitsui are FID ready. How many remember that??
Why did PAC LNG hire 7 of 9 Top Exec from EQ Marathon. Henry brought all those persons on board.
WHY???? Are they their to waste money or to allow PACLNG to build an IOC LNG plant under budget and on time???

    Comment 4:
JFT while I agree EWC may have been the best fit all along I think IOC & EWC were just a couple years to early to the party. The "world" needed a SM's stamp of approval on FLNG before it was deemed viable. Fast forward to today and now you read about a new FLNG at least once a week. The concept has even made its way to the US Gulf Coast through McMoran Energy's 24mpta FLNG proposal that is before the DOE.

With all that being said I do believe RC has been buying more IOC for a reason and has maintained his stake in EWC for a reason. I also believe that with the "compromise" of sending enough NG to PNG LNG for 1 or 2 trains IOC has probably built enough goodwill with the Govt to now be able to pursue a Mitsui/EWC deal.

The next few months will be quite interesting to say the least

    Comment 5:
Yes and so much for Shell getting the SD as was predicted here last Friday and for EWC being pie-in -sky. Pays to be tuned in to right channels.
