re: more fundamentals I bought in anticipation of coal prices holding. I was thinking high demand for steel (and thus coking coal) for infrastructure, cars in India and China, particularly in the lead up to the Olympic games in 2008.
But now I am not so sure.
Perhaps the downturn in the US will lead to a lowering of demand from China which will inturn lead to a reduction in production of manufactured goods and less demand for coking coal and a lowering of prices.
