Had lunch with Stephen Mayne and other ASA members today....guess which small cap bio tech stock was discussed!
ASA are happy to accept proxies for AGMs and EGMs from both members of ASA and non members alike.
Where there have been governance issues in the past Mayne has stood for the board of the offending company on a platform aimed specifically at correcting the abuse. He will be free to do so again mid year after he concludes his paid position/consultancy with ASA. He spoke of a number of instances where companies corrected their wayward behaviour before the AGM simply to avoid him standing. (I wonder is that a variation on Robert Holmes a Court's "greenmail"?)
Mayne was a very good speaker with lots to say. He was surprised to learn that ASIC officers had been at our last AGM.
I will email him again with your list of unanswered questions. To save me trawling back could you re-post or send me the link to the list of unanswered governance questions.
BTW I wonder if Kosenar has heard anything yet from ASIC...remind me again how many months is it now?
