COF Closing Price on Day Before Result Announcement = 36.5c
COF Closing Price Today = 43.0c

Capital Appreciation = 43.0c - 36.5c = 6.5c
Capital Appreciation in percentage terms = 6.5c/36.5c = 18%

"Underwhelmed" is...um...not the adjective that would come to the mind of most, I suspect.

Somewhere between "Begrudgingly Appreciative" or "Mildly Relieved" might be more befitting descriptors of an annualised return of some 300%-plus.

But thanks for the history tutorial, nonetheless.

PS. I couldn't help presuming that several of the company's executives were also a tad higher up on the sentiment scale than "underwhelmed", judging by their purchase of stock following the result.
