    Australian junior Kaboko Mining is reviewing local smelter options for its manganese ore in Zambia, Seko Mwanyungwi, group financial controller, told Metal Bulletin.

    “We are looking at smelter options and will soon be doing a feasibility study on this, but what appears to be a major obstacle to beneficiation in Zambia is the availability of viable, constant power solutions for such a smelter,” he noted on the sidelines of the Mining Indaba in Cape Town on February 7. Another obstacle to setting up a smelter for now is infrastructure around the company’s resources, such as airports, roads,..."

    Is it possible grades are forcing KAB to rethink the benefication option? They were dead against it. Now they seem keen. But their are obstacles as Kiwi mentions.
