Police warn scalpers over AFL tickets
Victorian police are warning football fans to beware of scalpers trying to sell tickets for tomorrow's AFL grand final.

They say anyone caught selling tickets above the market value could face fines of up to $6,000.

Detective Inspector Greg Doueal says police have arrested a man who had allegedly tried to sell tickets on the Internet for $700.

"If they do it just beware because the buyer could be an undercover policeman, that's my message," Inspector Doueal said.

"We've got police out there all the time. We've got police in the office here taking phone calls, so there's a fair chance that you may be caught."

Inspector Doueal sats people can also be prosecuted for selling tickets in the precincts of the MCG, even at cost price, unless they have a permit from Melbourne City Council.
