NMR coal is Export Quality but more likely for the generation of power for Botswana and its neighbours (Such as S.Africa) who are having energy shortages curently I believe...
Yes high Strip Ratio (not sure its as high as 60:1 though) Could say where you got this info .. .. but So do the Peers in the region from memory ...Remembering the Country is land locked so it is not cheaper to ship ore then Rail to Botswana for power gneration as the rail journey is signifcant from the coast....
The Coal is Atypical for botswana in quality terms .. 6000+ Kcal/kg is not an insignifcant grade and could hardly be called rubbish.
Also Coal price is forecast to rise dramatically in the years ahead it would take them several years get the mine up and running... another alternative is the onsite mass generation of power and transport via Power lines to end users... such as neighbouring contries.
There are plans for a Trans Africa Trainline which will run in the vicinty of the mine when built..
And average yield of 50 after wash is still 3 bill tonnes.
The coal is more than good enough to burn for Power... Understand its not the top shelf anthracite but usefull all the same..
AFR and AVA are the best Peers to just ... Think the both have a high Mcap than NMR with less resource...
All is IMHO DYOR
