Just saw on CNN that 40 soldiers from Togo have arrived in Mali to join the ground forces.
that should sort things out.
More seriously a couple of important points for those worried about LT stability issue: - The islamic rebels (not Touregs) are not residents or citizens of Mali. they have invaded from Libya and elsewhere and are not welcomed by the majority of the Malian population. This is a big difference with somewhere like Afghanistan, Iraq, or even France's historical conflict in Algeria. - There is a local African response and unified committment (including Toga!). - France has made it clear they will not leave without stability. History here is solid in favour of a positive result. Congo in the 90s. Even the Ivory Coast. France looks after its former colonies. - The USA are watching closely and supportice of France as if UK.
The big hope is that positive mitiltary action in the North promotes political stability in the South.
If so we can get busy mining gold and PIR can getbusy getting to +$5.
