Hmm thats an interesting price quote of $1500 for both eyes. Some places seems they get em in the door with the internet promise of $2000 and then tell them thats it for one eye only and then there is a possible jack up once your are in the door.
I am sure once you are in the door for a quote an then mention the price in Japan, they will give you some scare stories to prevent you from leaving, but all the OZ companies tell you HOW SAFE IT IS so worrying about complications are like worrying about haveing a car accident (if you did you wouldnt drive a car).
I reckon you should at least tell them that you only have 1000 grand less than the quote and haggle them down a bit
However if you can get both eyes fixed in OZ for under $2000 then do it, definately.
We did the research also for other prices people have paid in OZ, a friend of mums was told around 2000 by one place on the net and at the phone call she was told that the price was per eye, but when she went in their price total climbed to $6200 which she paid and was happy with the result. The cheapest any of our friends or family have ever got in OZ was $5400 for both eyes
No I cant tell you what sort of surgery only that the oz price quoted for my girlfriend in OZ was $8500 for both eyes.
As for complicatations, do not scare people into thinking Japan is Thailand where doctors are mass produced from backyard universities. Japan is a very high tech country.
My figures were wrong however in the last email. I said she paid $2900 for both eyes as compared to the quoted OZ price of $8500. She actually paid only $2692.41 AU for both eyes.
