Virotec poised to clinch first UK contract

Aussie environmental treatment company Virotec International (VTI:AIM) is expected to announce its first big UK deal this month (September). It is understood that a major quoted UK water utility group will sign a deal within weeks after a successful six-month trial of Virotec’s world-leading Bauxsoltechnology.

Virotec has already won two commercial contracts in Australia but has been spending heavily on overseas expansion. Many commercial trials have been under
way over the past year with major water companies in the UK, US and Australia.
The UK water company is understood to be a leading supplier of water and waste water treatment products.

It is uncertain whether it will use the technology in its own operations as well as sell it to other customers.ViroFlow products treat waste water from industrial sites and have been supplied to Australian tannery, electroplating and timber preservation companies.

ViroSoils deals with waste products from agricultural,fertiliser and aquaculture industries. ViroSewage has a number of customers trialling its reagents to treat waste water.

Virotec aims to form strategic alliances with big partners around the world to
sell its technology. The recent placing at 30p raised £9 million and one of the City’s smartest institutions, Fidelity, has built up a 5% stake.
