The op could only be referring to violence due to being male or being Aboriginal. Now Imo it is more likely to be a reference to aboriginality as people don't usually refer to a 'male culture'. As a longshot it could be a reference to 'small man syndrome' because Newman isn't that big, but I doubt it.

Don't really have to draw any conclusions. I'm on safe ground assuming it is a reference to aboriginality. What else could it be?
