Hi twinpeaks. Here is SEA's overall strategy:
"The Company’s strategy focuses on generating cash flow from its existing production base, acquiring and developing high-interest, Sundance-operated projects designed to accelerate growth, exploring for additional resources within existing basins and pursuing strategic merger and acquisition opportunities." (from Oct12 Ann Rpt)

More on SEA's "operator" strategy: "Our strategic vision is to develop those assets where we are operator and have high working interests thereby allowing us to control the pace of growth of our projects and the allocation of our capital resources."

SEA's strong financial focus: "Capital efficient top line growth is important, but it is equally important to generate good returns on capital we are entrusted with investing." SEA's financial focus beyond the typical OZ oiler is apparent in its presentations, with usual info about NPV, price per acre, and other financial metrics for each basin.

Further statement on growth strategy: "Over the next six to nine months, organic growth will remain important but we will be actively seeking a step change in the Company’s growth trajectory via acquisition."

Finally, Sundance presentations and report continuously refer to "early/opportunistic entry" (which convinced me SEA wasn't interested in high-priced EFS assets from TXN).
