    Hello People.
Kaolin doesn't sound as sexy as copper etc but I think this could be the sleeper of the MEP stable of projects.
I tend to agree with Kippax

My main reason for the optimism is surely this board would not persist with the development of the Kaolin pilot plant at streaky bay if they did not believe that the end result could be quite lucrative.
The board appear very clever with funds and they also appear very positive and confident with the announcement.

I read that it's not so much lack of water but the salt content of the water, and a reason why production in SA hasn't been much.

My understanding of the pilot plant at streaky bay installed early this year was to produce a calcined kaolin to take to the world. The calcination process dramatically increases the opacity and brightness of the product.

The amount of Kaolin they are talking of is massive. Whilst all of it won't be high end, the majority of Careys Well is and at the price quoted in the announcement $500 PT, could be very lucrtive.

Here is a quote I found in a broker report from July 2010.

"Regardless of past exploits and adventures with Kaolin by others, the processing trials are critical because Poochera is a POTENTIAL COMPANY MAKER FOR MEP. The Kaolin market differs significantly from your traditional base and precious metals storiesin that the end products are only worthwhile if you are able to attract buyers for them and marketing could become a major focus for MEP in the future."

Reading the Ann from this morning this is where they are at now with the project and it's just taken time. Kaolin has so many different uses that it really opens the door if we have a quality product.

This last paragraph in the Ann sugests to me that we might have a little to get excited about soon enough.

"Mr Woskett said the analyses unequivocally confirm the physically competitive properties of
Carey’s Well material and are expected to generate intense interest from prospective project
partners or end users as the marketing effort unfolds."

    Good luck all.
