Great post Dis,
Last night I was in the process of writing about the test being in the LKC interval, but my computer froze on me haha!
It doesn't all have to be about the Miss. though, the Lansing Kansas City formation could yield as good if not a better productive interval for AOK anyway, time will tell!
Completely agree with the EV comment of the North West Kansas acreage. Sandridge seem to really like the geological characteristics (and vertical production), but they're considering selling ~250K net acres of the Kansas acreage eventually and are obviously biased in it's credentials considering their land position in the area.
I believe that one of the bigger problems in Kansas is that it has higher water production than most of the Oklahoma Mississippian, so the water pumping costs can go up a bit. Still I'd imagine it'll turn out pretty good, considering Sandridge and CHK's confidence in it.
As more and more companies (Apache and Devon are the most recent) are announcing additional very large land positions in the Mississippian, it'll be interesting to see what some of the M&A activity will look like in the future, when the un-leased land starts drying up.
