On behalf of all IGR shareholders, thank you Silver Lake and thank you Les Davis. By agreeing to the merge, you have saved us alot of heartache.
I will be the first to admit that I fell in love with IGR. A long time accumulator since '05, like many others I believed in the story that was spun and growth potential. I thought we had 3 key ingredients that would make us big - i) A-grade commodity in a generational bullish cycle; ii) highly prospective tenements; and iii) top class management
Strong ticks on the first two boxes but my rose coloured glasses led me to believe that management couldn't put a foot wrong. At a time where producers should be capitalising on record gold spot prices, our management has disappointed to a great extent.
The merge with SLR is no doubt the best decision IGR has made in quite some time, however dodgy it may have been. I'm glad the petty arguments about how we are worth more than 6.28 shares have subsided as it's the bigger picture that we should be looking at. SLR needed to retain the majority of the combined entity to keep control (i.e. 60%), and I am mighty glad that that has happened.
Looking ahead, I am excited again about the potential of both companies coming together and the path we are heading down. The synergies are undeniable and hoping this partnership is a rare case where 1 + 1 could indeed equal 3.
So once again, thank you SLR for taking us under your wings. I look forward to sharing a little space in a company where all our dreams can become a reality.
Cheers Yowie
